Biography

Former Sheffield United defender Jake Phillips joined the club in July 2019.

Jake ended the 18/19 season at Northern Premier League Premier Division side Bamber Bridge having signed from Nantwich Town in March of that year.

He began his career at Tranmere Rovers, but after narrowly missing out on a professional contract, Jake joined Llandudno, where he was part of their 2015 Huws Gray Alliance title-winning side.

Phillips then earned himself an opportunity at Sheffield United, then of League One, where he was a regular for the Blades' Under-21 side before cancelling his contract by mutual consent.

A stint followed at Fleetwood Town before he signed for Brackley Town whom he helped avoid relegation from the National League North.

He spent the 2016 pre-season on trial at Nottingham Forest but was not offered a deal, eventually moving to Margate, and then on to Welling United in the National League South that season.

In pre-season of the 2017-18 campaign, he trained with various teams from National League to the Welsh Premier after which he re-signed for Llandudno. The defender then joined the Nantwich for an initial spell half-way through the season before signing for Matlock Town.

Jake re-joined the Dabbers in October 2018 before making a handful of appearances for Brig to end the campaign.
