Vikings FC beaten by a 4 goal haul by opposition striker James Horan

In a crazy and somewhat bizarre game of football Vikings FC could not stop James Horan and his Cheadle Town teammates from claiming all 3 points on Wednesday evening.

Amongst the seven goals were four penalties, three of which were put into the back of the net - two of which stood - with the fourth being saved.

Forty seconds in, Cheadle Town's Matt German launches a speculative shot towards goal. It looks to be an easy catch for the Widnes keeper but he seems to lose it in the floodlights and the back of the net is bulging before anybody has had a chance to settle down.

Five minutes later, Vikings FC get an equaliser. A cross in from the left is headed away but it ricochets back off Daniel Garvey who seizes on the loose ball and lashes home from close range.

Straight from the restart the first of the four penalties of the evening was given. The score remained 1-1 as Jason Walley's effort is saved by John Kewin. Minutes later as a Vikings FC free-kick is left by Piggott in the Cheadle goal allowing Garvey to steal in and poke home his second of the evening for the Vikings FC to lead 2-1.

The match began to settle down eventually and chances came and went for both teams until the 24minute when a Cheadle equaliser came. A mad scramble in the box occurred and the ball finally found its way into the goal making it 2-2.

Half Time: Cheadle 2-2 Widnes Vikings FC

The second half did not disappoint for entertainment either, within seconds of the restart Cheadle were awarded another penalty (2nd of the match) and James Horan finished to give Cheadle a 3-2 lead.

Not stopping there within a couple of minutes it was Vikings FC turn for a spot-kick after the ref pointed to the spot for the 3rd time in the match. Ben Tollitt had the chance to cap a fine debut performance by scoring his first goal for the club, his penalty effort rebounded off the crossbar however fell kindly to finish on a second opportunity, the drama didn't stop here as the rules state a penalty taker can not score from a rebound if the ball hasn't touched the opposition so the effort was disallowed.

Penalty drama once again with the 4th penalty of the game awarded to Cheadle and James Horan completed his hat-trick for the home side making the scoreline 4-2.

The scoring didn't finish there as James Horan scored his 4th and Cheadle Towns 5th of the match to complete a resounding 5-2 win.
