Widnes FC have won the Reusch Champions Cup after beating neighbours Runcorn Linnets 3-0 on Saturday.
Two goals in four second half minutes from George Lomax and a further strike from Ben Hodkinson ensured that Widnes kicked off the 2018/19 season in style with silverware.
The fixture acts as a season curtain-raiser for the North West Counties League, between the Premier Division and League Cup winners.
Widnes join Colne and City of Liverpool as winners of the trophy after it's reintroduction in 2016.
Steve Akrigg and Kev Towey's men face two final pre-season games before the 2018/19 season officially gets underway. Widnes are away at Billinge on Tuesday night, before travelling to Wales to face Prestatyn Town next Saturday.
