Widnes have been handed an away draw at Burscough in the first round of the Liverpool Senior Cup.

The Whites are two-time semi-finalists in the Senior Cup and will be aiming to improve on first round exits in each of the last two editions of the competition.

Standing in their way is a Burscough side who currently sit 18th in the North West Counties Premier Division with 12 points from 10 games.

Lewis Sumner is their caretaker manager after Richard Brodie left his position earlier this week.

The tie will be played week commencing 15th or 22nd October.
