Widnes have been drawn away to City of Liverpool in the second round of the Liverpool Senior Cup.
The Whites have been handed a first round bye, and will subsequently meet Craig Robinson's Purps for a place in the last eight.
The two sides met in the last season's competition at the quarter-final stage, won by eventual beaten semi-finalists Widnes.
A date for the tie at the Berry Street Garage Stadium will be confirmed in due course.
Steve Akrigg and Kev Towey's side have reached the last-four in each of the last two seasons, losing out on penalties to beaten finalists Prescot Cables last term, and the Whites will be looking to go one better this time-around.
This season's competition features debutants in Pilkington and Runcorn Town, as well as professional clubs Everton and Tranmere Rovers. Southport are the current holders.
