Widnes FC and AFC Widnes are pleased to announce that following constructive discussions and collaboration with the Liverpool County FA, we have reached an amicable solution that both parties are agreed brings a full and final end to any recent dubiety and ensures that all players can continue their football journey.
Both clubs would like to extend our sincere apologies to the players, parents, and coaches of the Club regarding the recent events. The outcome was never intended, and we deeply regret any concern or distress that may have arisen as a result. We remain committed to fostering a positive and respectful environment for all involved, and we are taking steps to ensure that future actions reflect this commitment.
As part of this forward-thinking agreement, the junior section of the club will now operate
independently of Widnes FC Ltd under the new name of Widnes FC Juniors. This means it will have its own dedicated committee and a separate bank account, allowing it to function with greater autonomy while still maintaining a strong and unified identity with the senior club.
Key Benefits of This Structure:
To ensure a smooth transition and clarity moving forward, we encourage all teams to speak
directly with the Widnes FC Juniors Club Secretary via widnesjfc@outlook.com. This will
help confirm each team’s position and ensure alignment with the new framework.
Any teams who have already paid their signing-on fees for the upcoming season will be
reimbursed by AFC Widnes and will be required to complete a new registration with Widnes FC Juniors.
We believe this new arrangement will provide a solid foundation for future success and growth, both on and off the pitch. We thank the Liverpool County FA for their support and guidance throughout this process.
