George Webster has agreed an initial one-month dual registration deal with North West Counties Premier Division side Runcorn Town.
The 21-year-old has been limited to just one substitute appearance this season, and joins neighbours Runcorn in search for regular game time.
Highly rated by co-bosses Steve Akrigg and Kev Towey, Webster made 29 appearances for Widnes last season after moving from Barnton in the summer of 2018, and Towey insists the youngster remains a key part of plans moving forward.
"It's important that we get George some game time," Towey said.
"He's a big part of our plans at this club, but he's missed a lot of pre-season and once he returns, he'll have a big part to play this season."
