Vikings FC looking to bounce back!

Widnes Football Club21 Mar 2013 - 19:05

This Saturday, 23rd March, Vikings FC face Upton AA Reserves away from home, aiming to respond to a recent run of form which has taken in a defeat against promotion seeking Marshall's Reserves and a 2-2 stalemate versus Hale last weekend at the Stobart.

Having won February's 'Manager Of The Month Award' for guiding the Vikings to a series of spectacular results, Steve Hill must now show the rest of the league that he can galvanise a recovery from such setbacks with a timely success.

While it's unfair to say that the Vikings grip on a place amongst the top 3 in the West Cheshire League is beginning to slip through their fingers, it is imperative that three points are obtained this weekend, but players, staff and spectators alike are fully aware of the threat posed by the Upton outfit in their own back yard.

Sitting one point behind the leaders Redgate Rovers and Gateacre, both of whom were victims of the Vikings impressive form last month, shows that the black and whites are fully capable of obtaining a result in any given situation.

But, with those outfits in top form, and with all important games in hand, it is now very difficult for Steve Hill's side to collect the title.

The question is..... will you be going to Upton?
Vikings FC need your crucial support to encourage them through what is fast becoming squeaky bum time at the conclusion of a magnificent campaign.
