Kev Towey believes Widnes are continuing to learn at BetVictor North/West Division level following their dramatic victory over Colne last weekend.
The Whites trailed 1-0 at the Sovereign Play Stadium until defender Danny Shaw equalised from a set-piece.
Substitute Michael Grogan then netted his first goal since February to give his side the lead before repeating the trick eight minutes from time.
Aidan Chippendale's penalty ensured a tense finish but Widnes held on to record their second win of the league campaign ahead of this weekend's trip to league leaders Workington.
Assessing the character-building victory, co-manager Towey said: "I keep drawing back on it, 80% of the squad itself is 24 and under.
"They're having to learn and even in a short space of time, since the opening day of the season, when we were 2-0 up at Ramsbottom, then (Colne) and the home game we were 2-0 down (Mossley in the FA Cup), they're learning all the time and it's a good experience for them.
"It's not ideal for my heart rate, but it's a learning experience."
Widnes bounced back from their FA Cup exit to Whitby a week previous at Colne but Towey admitted it had been pleasing to secure their first ever victory in the competition against Mossley in the Preliminary Round.
"It's a monkey off the club's back," he explained.
"I've been involved as a player the two previous years where we went out. It just felt like there was nothing we can do.
"We were drawn Mossley, which was a very tough draw, and you're thinking 'What do we have to do to win a game in this?'
"But we rolled our sleeves up and won it."
