Widnes FC will be looking to return to winning ways in the Hallmark Security League First Division as they travel to Atherton Laburnum Rovers on Saturday afternoon.
Widnes will be looking for a positive result on their travels despite the departure of joint managers Danny Meadowcroft and Brian Pritchard by mutual consent on Friday.
The departure of Meadowcroft and Pritchard means that First Team Coach and now Interim First Team Manager Danny Salt will take charge of the team at Crilly Park.
Widnes are without a league win in their last two and will be looking to bounce back and get Salt's tenure off to a flying start.
In their last outing, Widnes were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw away at St Helens Town. Despite dominating possession, Widnes failed to make their chances count and ultimately had to settle for a draw after Philip Williams cancelled out Jason McShane's opener in the 38th minute.
Atherton LR finished second-bottom of the First Division last season and have started this season well and have already amassed 11 points, which is more than half of the amount of points picked up throughout the whole of last season (18).
However, LR have lost four of their last five games, including Tuesday's 2-1 defeat at Daisy Hill, and will be looking to bounce back against Widnes, who will be playing their second game within 48 hours.
Head to Head
In six meetings, the two clubs have shared the spoils, picking up three victories each.
Last season, Widnes did the double over LR, with both fixtures taking place within 10 days of each other in April. Widnes ran-out 4-1 winners at the Select Security Stadium, before edging the return fixture 3-2 as Tunde Owolabi netted a brace.
