Widnes travel to Trafford today bidding to record their first win of the new Northern Premier League season.
The Whites have endured a difficult start to the campaign having failed to win any of their opening six competitive matches.
Steve Akrigg and Kev Towey's side sit second-bottom in the NPL Division One North/West having picked up just one point from their opening four games, losing 3-2 at Ossett United last time out.
They sit five places and five points behind opponents Trafford, albeit with two games in-hand.
However, Widnes will be buoyed by their recent record against the North having lost just once to Trafford in four league meetings between the two sides.
In fact, the Whites ran out 2-0 winners at Shawe View back in February thanks to a pair of headed goals from James Steele and Jamie Rainford.
Trafford come into the contest having lost three straight games in all competitions.
Danny Caldecott was appointed as the club's new manager in the summer after the departure of long-serving boss Tom Baker, with Caldecott holding the distinction of having featured as a player for Trafford before becoming assistant manager under Baker in 2017.
Caldecott's side were beaten 1-0 at City of Liverpool in midweek with James McCarten netting a winner 11 minutes from time.
Team News
Widnes will be without the services of Alex McQuade (achilles) while co-boss Towey and Danny Ventre are both suspended.
They could be boosted by the return of Tom Moore from an ankle injury while both Ryan Gibson and Shaun Holden have stepped up their recovery from knee injuries.
Matchday Information
Widnes supporters are advised not to travel to the fixture due to Tier 3 COVID-19 restrictions.
The FA, the Northern Premier League and its member clubs have asked spectators not to travel between Tier 3 restricted areas in line with government guidelines.
