Widnes Football Club is delighted to confirm the loan signing of Sam Grimshaw from Macclesfield.
The 29-year-old has agreed a temporary switch to the DCBL Stadium on a deal running until 28th January 2024.
Sam describes himself as an “old-fashioned winger” who can also provide cover at left-back.
He spent nine years with Manchester City as a teenager until his release before finding his feet in Non-League football at the likes Altrincham, Radcliffe and Glossop North End.
His impressive performances with the latter earned him a trial at Manchester United in 2015, spending five weeks training with the First Team under then manager Louis van Gaal.
Sam has since featured at Step 4 for both Trafford and the Silkmen, winning the Northern Premier League West division last season.
Sam is eligible to feature in Saturday’s fixture at Witton Albion!
