Congratulations to Ben Hodkinson and Danny Shaw, who have been voted Widnes' Bowland Brewery Player of the Month for August and September respectively.

Hodkinson enjoyed a fruitful August in front of goal as the forward netted four goals in five games, including an early goal-of-the-season contender at home to Mossley in the Emirates FA Cup.

Shaw was an ever-present in September, and is quickly becoming a fans' favourite with a string of impressive performances since a summer move from Marine.

Both players were presented with their awards by club secretary Adrian Bevan prior to Saturday's loss to Tadcaster Albion.
