Widnes Football Club is pleased to confirm the double signing of Michael Simpson and Jacob Holland-Wilkinson.
Simpson, 31, joins up with the squad having left City of Liverpool earlier this month.
Naturally a right-back who can cover in midfield, Simmo played under Michael Ellison with both the Purps and Runcorn Linnets, where he lifted the North West Counties Premier Division ahead of Widnes in 2018.
He also won the NPL West title with Warrington Rylands in 2022 and lists Skelmersdale United amongst his former clubs.
Holland-Wilkinson (pictured), 22, arrives on dual registration from National League North high-flyers Chorley.
An exciting and versatile forward, Jacob has spent the majority of the last 18 months with Lancaster City, enjoying two spells at the Giant Axe either side of a stint at Bury.
He arrives with impressive pedigree having spent time in academy systems at Preston North End and Stoke City, signing pro terms with the latter in 2022.
Holland-Wilkinson has played higher up the pyramid for AFC Fylde and Bamber Bridge.
Both players are eligible to face Hanley Town today.
