Duo made their debuts in Saturday's draw with Mossley

Widnes Football Club are delighted to confirm the double signing of Alex McQuade and Ryan Jennings.

McQuade, a central defender, and Jennings (pictured), a winger, both join from BetVictor Northern Premier League Premier Division side Buxton and made their full debuts in Saturday's clash with Mossley.

27-year-old McQuade began his career at Bolton Wanderers before moving to Shrewsbury Town where he made his senior debut in a League One clash with MK Dons in August 2013.

He has since had spells at Guiseley, Hyde United, Warrington Town and Farsley Celtic before moving to Ossett Albion in December 2017.

McQuade then signed with the amalgamated Ossett United for the following season, where he was named Player of the Season before joining Buxton in the summer.

24-year-old Jennings began his career at Stockport County before moving to Wigan Athletic in 2012, making his senior debut in a League Cup tie with Bury in August 2015.

He had spells on loan in the then Conference Premier at Cheltenham Town and Grimsby Town, and was part of the team that eventually went on to beat Forest Green Rovers 3–1 in the 2016 National League play-off Final at Wembley, seeing Grimsby promoted to League Two after a six-year absence from the Football League.

Jennings then had spells at AFC Fylde, Curzon Ashton, Alfreton Town, Nuneaton Borough and Ashton United before signing for Buxton.

Both players played the full 90 minutes of Saturday's goalless draw with Mossley.
