Dempsey (pictured, left) returns to Edge Green Street for a second spell as manager after resigning from the position 11 months ago to take up the position of first team coach at Atherton Collieries.

Demps would later leave Atherton before joining Widnes in August to work under co-bosses Steve Akrigg and Kev Towey.

Striker Daley Woods will also leave the club to join up with Dempsey at Ashton in a player/coach capacity.
