Widnes FC are delighted to announce that Danny Salt has joined the Club's coaching staff ahead of the 2016/17 Hallmark Security League First Division campaign.
Danny joins the Club following his resignation as manager of Cheshire League side Rylands earlier this month after one solitary season at the helm of the Cheshire League Premier Division outfit.
Salt has built up a reputation as highly-rated coach following his coaching spells at Warrington Town as reserve team manager and a lengthy 5-year spell as an assistant at Runcorn Town before departing to join Rylands as manager last summer.
Speaking following his appointment, Salt is looking forward to getting started.
He said: "I am pleased to be joining Widnes FC in what is an exciting time for the club. After speaking to Danny (Meadowcroft), the decision was an easy one.
"I am looking forward to working alongside Danny and Brian, and between the three of us, I believe that we have what it takes to the take the club up the divisions.
"I can't wait for the season to start and for all the hard work to begin."
Danny also had an illustrious playing career, beginning his career at Wigan Athletic before turning out for a number of local clubs including Runcorn Town, Witton Albion and St Helens Town before becoming a fan favourite Warrington Town.
Widnes manager Danny Meadowcroft has been speaking about Danny joining the club, and is clearly delighted to have appointed the former Rylands manager to his coaching staff.
He said: "Both myself and Brian are extremely happy that Danny has come on board. His experience at this level as well as years of playing will not only benefit the players, but the club itself.
"Not only is Danny a good coach, he is also a good man who will definitely bring something extra to the changing room."
