Vikings FC are proud to announce initial details on the clubs latest Charity orientated Football Match in support of the Armed Forces Benevolent Fund.
Through the clubs connections and newest supporter Jason Butler from HSBC the idea was initially discussed during a recent First Team match on which Jason was a guest and the idea has rapidly come to fruition.
Not only will the day consist of Two Football Matches but we are also looking to have a number of 'Special Guests' attend and possibly play some part in the Charity Match, watch this space for further details!
Jason Butler explains a little more on the background and what is included within the event "This football match is to celebrate the strong and secure links between the local communities and the Armed Forces.
It is a way of celebrating the safe return from Afghanistan of a local footballer and Army Soldier Lee Geraghty. It is also a way of raising awareness and raising money towards those Army personnel who have fallen on tougher times.
For a small increase on the usual match fee you can see 2 football games in the Select Stadium, The Railway Rangers v Vikings Select XI and then Vikings FC v Leek CSOB.
Its a family orientated day with a family ticket costing only £10 for the whole event".
