Widnes, who progressed to the third round with victory over Carlisle City on penalties back in November, were paired with the two Hallmark Security League Premier Division clubs in Wednesday evening's draw.

Although Padiham beat Darwen in the second round tie between the two sides on Tuesday, the result of tie is currently pending an investigation surrounding the possibility of an ineligible player being fielded in that game.

Ties for the Third Round will be played midweek commencing Monday 12th March 2018.

Like the previous rounds, the draw was regionalised to a North/South draw, and is as follows:
