Confirmation of four recent arrivals at the Select Security Stadium

Widnes Football Club can today confirm the signings of duo Sam Henry and Phil Doran pending international clearance.

Striker Henry (pictured) arrives from Welsh Premier League side Bangor City while left-sided Doran also makes the move across the border, arriving from Flint Town United.

The duo join River Humphreys and Ben Hodkinson as recent arrivals at the Select Security Stadium.

Henry arrives with a reputation as a prolific goalscorer in the West Cheshire League with Blacon Youth and Blacon Thistle. The former Manchester City trialist claimed the top goalscorer prize in three successive seasons before a leg-break sidelined him for eighteen months.

Sam returned to action with Welsh National League (Wrexham area) outfit Brickfield Rangers in 2016/17 before returning to Blacon Youth and netting 31 goals from 14 appearances during the latter part of the season.

He earned a move to Bangor City in the summer, appearing in the Europa League earlier this season.

Doran is an attacking left back, with a penchant for long, mazy runs and a lethal long range shot. He lists Blackpool, Rhyl, Connah's Quay and Witton Albion amongst his former clubs.

Joint manager Kev Towey said: "We are really happy with securing the services of these players.

"We were very lucky with Ben coming in as he's a great prospect and a player is still very young although experienced at his level. He is one we feel will develop and a very important asset to the club for years to come.

"Once we became aware that Sam was available, it was a no-brainer due to this phenomenal goalscoring record.

"Bangor have been very good in helping us get the deal done quickly and once we get him up to match speed, he's guaranteed to get us goals.

"Phil Doran gives us a great option defensively with a lot of experience at Evo-Stik level and in the Welsh leagues. He's very athletic and the type of lads who won't shirk anything.

"We know what we're getting with River. He was a big part of last season's title-winning squad and a lad who can almost certainly contribute if we can get him playing regularly."
