O'Brien Completes Deadline Day Switch

Widnes FC have completed the signing of attacking midfielder Brendan O'Brien.

O'Brien, 18, joins a permanent deal having come through the ranks as a youngster at Blackpool, where he was a teammate of Finlay Sinclair-Smith.

The attacking midfielder was a key player in the Seasiders' fairytale run in the FA Youth Cup last season, reaching the semi-finals before losing out to Arsenal.

Brendan is available for selection in Saturday's trip to Prescot Cables.
