Chris and George Lomax have committed their futures for the 2018/19 Evo-Stik League season

Widnes Football Club are delighted to confirm that both George and Chris Lomax have penned new contracts to remain at the club until at least the summer of 2019.

The pair have become the latest players to put pen-to-paper on new deals after Jay Roberts, Ben Hodkinson and Sam Sheen.

The siblings joined the club from St Helens Town in September 2016, becoming the first signings of then-manager Joey Dunn.

George is now in his second spell with Widnes, having had brief spells with both AFC Liverpool and Marine before re-signing under Kev Towey and Steve Akrigg back in January.

The Blackpool academy graduate has scored 33 goals in 62 Widnes appearances, scoring in wins over both Runcorn Linnets and Runcorn Town this season.

Winger Chris continues to enjoy the best football of his career at Widnes. The ex-Linnet has scored 27 goals in 74 appearances, including 10 strikes last term.

Both George and Chris have played important roles in the club's recent success, scooping Hallmark Security League First Division and Macron Cup honours, as well as clinching promotion to the Evo-Stik Division One West last season.
