Duo appointed following the resignation of Joey Dunn

Widnes Football Club can confirm that defender Steve Akrigg and current First Team Coach Nick Matthews (pictured) have been asked to take charge of first team matters on an interim basis following the departure of Joey Dunn.

The duo will be supported by the current coaching team of First Team Coach Paul Jones and Goalkeeping Coach Gaz Hartley. Lewis Dunwoody and James Standing have both since left the Club following Friday's announcement.

This interim setup will take charge of the first team's Hallmark Security League Premier Division clash against City of Liverpool tonight, and until a new manager has been appointed.

The Club are inviting applications for the role of First Team Manager. To apply, send a covering letter and up-to-date CV to Chairman Ian Ross - ian@hallmark-security.com.
