Vikings FC returned home to the Select Security Stadium after 2 away games on the bounce this weekend facing Rochdale Town and going in search of a hat-trick of league wins.
The black and whites very nearly got off to the perfect start as Jeff Thomas smashed his early effort against the crossbar after a fine save from the visiting goalkeeper.
It didn't take long before Vikings FC did take the lead as Jeff Thomas slotted the ball home after an error from Rochdale's goalkeeper gifted Jeff Thomas with a fairly easy finish in the end.
In an end-to-end passage of play which saw both sides hit the post and crossbar it wasn't until the 45th minute of first half before the next goal came, this time for the visitors right on the stroke of half time with a fantastic long range effort.
Vikings FC started the second half much better than they ended the first, creating all the early chances. It wasn't until the 72nd minute when the lead was restored. A fantastic counter-attack goal from defending a corner and a quick break opened up the Rochdale defence for Luke Forsyth to finish off the move, Vikings FC leading 2-1.
Ten minutes later the win was sealed with a debut goal from Jamie Boyle completing today's scoring and making it 3-1 to Vikings FC.
Another win for the Vikings FC this time in torrential rain, in a game that could have gone either way the Vikings FC came out on top to complete a hat-trick of wins.
