Widnes to host Handsworth Parramore in first-ever FA Cup tie

Widnes' FA Cup and FA Vase opponents were revealed this morning

Widnes have been handed a home tie in the first-ever appearance in the FA Cup, with Joey Dunn's men set to welcome Northern Counties East League Premier Division side Handsworth Parramore to the Select Security Stadium on Saturday 5th August.

The Worksop-based club were led to a fourth placed finish in the NCEL Premier Division last season by manager James Colliver. 'The Amber Parras' also reached the Third Qualifying Round of last season's FA Cup, beating Squires Gate and Burscough along the way before losing 3-1 away at Lincoln United.

The reward for the winners is an away tie at Parkgate or Barnton in the Preliminary Round on Saturday 19th August.

Widnes have also been handed a home draw in the FA Vase, with Glasshoughton Welfare providing the opposition in the First Qualifying Round on Saturday 9th September.

The winners will be handed a home tie in the Second Qualifying Round against AFC Darwen on Saturday 23rd September.
