Last weekend they suffered a humiliating 6-0 thrashing away at Atherton Collieries. This is Litherland’s first season at this level so they will be looking to get their first win at the third attempt.
Meanwhile Widnes got their first points on the board last weekend with a 2-0 home win over Oldham Boro, the win was capped off with an impressive performance on the field but goalkeeper Robert Cork’s sending off has thrown Steve Hill’s preparation into chaos.
Widnes will use their experience form being in the same position as Litherland last season to their advantage. Although this is the first meeting between the two sides, it is important that both sides come away with a win. The game kicks off at 7:45pm at Litherland Sports Park on Wednesday 13th August.
