The FA has released provisional placings for all clubs in steps 5-6 following the conclusion of league campaigns and play-offs for the 2016/17 season.

Widnes' place in the Hallmark Security League Premier Division has been confirmed following the our title-winning campaign last season.

Joining Widnes in the Premier Division are Charnock Richard and City of Liverpool, who were both promoted to the Premier Division automatically and through the play-offs respectively.

Atherton Collieries were promoted to the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Division One North with Burscough relegated into the NWCFL Premier Division.

Northwich Victoria have also been provisionally placed in the NWCFL Premier Division following their relegation from the Northern Premier League Division One South.

Elsewhere in the North West Counties, Cammell Laird 1907, New Mills and Nelson have been placed in the First Division following relegation from the Premier Division.

Abbey Hulton United have been promoted to the First Division from the Staffordshire County Senior League, with Ashton Town's relegation to the Cheshire League being confirmed. Eccleshall have been granted a reprieve from relegation.
