While the Warrington League is essentially an open age competition, the team will be made up of younger talent, providing a vital pathway and genuine opportunity for younger players – with the right talent and application – to progress from youth level to the First Team.

Current First Team Coach Nick Matthews has been appointed manager and the team will play their home games at Parklands from next season.

The new development squad will coincide with the launch of a junior set-up for the upcoming season.

This exciting development provides local youngsters with the chance to improve their game whilst creating a pathway from the youngest age groups right through to youth football and semi-professional levels.

Widnes is a hotbed of youth football and it has been an ambition of the Club to nurture talent with the view to developing our own future First Team players.
