Home games to be played at Barnton's Townfield Lane until mid-autumn return to Widnes

Widnes Football Club can confirm that the club has agreed a temporary groundshare with Hallmark Security League club Barnton.

The iPitch at the Halton Stadium has failed it’s annual FIFA artificial pitch test, and as a result, we have agreed to a temporary groundshare with Barnton to ensure our immediate status as members of the Northern Premier League.

However, with the help of Barnton, the Northern Premier League and Halton Borough Council, we have been able to secure a return to the Halton Stadium once the pitch has been re-laid – due to take place following the conclusion of the Super League season in the autumn.

The Club would like to thank Cllr Phil Harris, the management of the Halton Stadium, the Northern Premier League and especially Barnton who have all helped us out tremendously.

Admission prices for the upcoming season will be at £7 adults, £3 concessions and Under 16s free in line with the Northern Premier League’s minimum pricing guidelines.

Our scheduled pre-season friendly with Southport next Friday will be played at the Halton Stadium, with admission set as £2 adults and Under 16s free.
