Widnes Football Club can today confirm that can today confirm that the pre-season friendly match with Burscough scheduled for Saturday 22nd July has now been postponed.

In light of the injury situation that currently surrounds the club; we have made the proposal to Burscough to postpone Saturday's friendly at Victoria Park.

With players being rotated due to work commitments and holidays, coupled with the Development Squad's Widnes Cup tie at Halebank, the Club have exhausted all options but must regretfully pull out of the fixture.

We would like to place on record our thanks to Burscough for their cooperation on this matter; we wish them well in the forthcoming season.
