Former Widnes forward Ben Tollitt has signed a professional contract with SkyBet League Two side Portsmouth following a successful trial.
Tollitt has signed a one-year contract with an option for an extension after impressing manager Paul Cook as the 2008 FA Cup winners drew 1-1 with Havant & Waterlooville in a pre-season friendly on Saturday.
Tollitt joined Widnes in 2013 following his release by Everton and went on to nail down a place in Steve Hill's side. His form in 2014/15 earned Tollitt a dual-registration contract with Northern Premier League side Skelmersdale United for the remainder of the campaign.
Tollitt made 19 appearances for the club last season, scoring 10 goals.
The club would like to congratulate Ben and wish him all the best in his new adventure.
